This is the best Hulk we're going to get. Take it or leave it.

I liked Eric Bana as the hulk in the previous Hulk film but Edward Norton definently one ups him in this film, He gives a good performance. CGI is solid as well. What hurts the film is that it's plot was far too generic and the supporting cast was disapointing as well. Overall, it was better then it was expected to be but still flawed.

The Incredible Hulk has excellent fight scenes and stunning use of CGI, but it doesn't live up to Iron Man or The Avengers. If you liked The Avengers, Iron Man or Thor, then you'll like The Incredible Hulk as well. My score: 78/100

Really enjoyed this, bar a few daft bits & flimsy plot-lines/holes, it holds together well and does both a great job as a film, and a superhero flick. It finds a superb balance in portraying an angry-man-hating Hulk and also a caring, misunderstood one, although it does lacks a bit of needed dialogue in the early stages mind. However it definitely finishes strong with a top notch fight scene and the CGI graphics actually look great, with the end fight scene itself pretty damn cool and not the repetitive borefest which CGI usually spawns. All the scenes involving Hulk throughout are excellent in fact - no "it's obviously CGI" moments - and the film also cleverly intertwines into the plot the way that Hulk goes from being a raging monster, to more of a man-monster. If you can ignore the odd daft bit then you've a fine film to enjoy.

This movie is very badly directed, and i just didn't care about any of the characters. Edward Norton was the only spot of light. I don't get it... Ang Lee's Hulk was miles better as a movie, and actually had an emotional story and characters i could at least somewhat relate to. Is it that people's tastes have really degenerated so much that the majority prefer this ridiculously mediocre movie to the Ang Lee's version? Or are the majority of reviewers just kids who prefer it just because... well, it's newer... and Hulk says: "Hulk smash!" Either way, it's embarrassing.

There are no performances because no one really has lines or any character moments. The plot essentially comprises of going from A to B to C with a chase scene leading to a fight at each location. There is no continuity or suspense. How many times do you shoot Hulk with assault rifles until you realize the bullets bounce off? Oh maybe if I do a cartwheel over him and shot him with my 9mm that will do the trick. Worst of all this movie is filled with head scratching stupid decisions and plot devices that ruin what little moment it has. Even worse than Captain America. At least that had 20 okay minutes. When can we start making real movies again? Seriously.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK helps us believe that the man who is the monster really does fear himself, that he fears not being able to control it. It's a Marvel film: it's fun, humorous, and packed with action. Sit back and watch the Hulk...SMASH!

Following on from the 2003 film Hulk, Marvel decided the best course of action prior to the Avengers film was to reboot the series with a new director and cast, resulting in this 2008 update starring Edward Norton in the title role. Hulk is a different type of superhero to most of the traditional good-looking all-American heroes such as Spiderman or Iron Man. Although tamed by Betty Ross, the Hulk is not capable of relating to humans and therefore the audience and I feel this has always made it difficult for storytellers and directors to produce engaging films with this character. On the occasions that the Hulk appears during the first half of the film, in a repetitive series of chase and escape scenes, he destroys almost everything in his path without remorse as Banner is unable to control his rage. At the end of the film, Banner intentionally turns into the Hulk in order to fight the Abomination, leading the audience to believe that the Hulk is now a fully fledged crime fighting superhero. This transformation between out of control animal and useful superhero may be the films idea of character development but apart from reuniting with Betty, no other significant events occur that explain this. Norton and Liv Tyler play their characters well and William Hurt is impressive as General Ross, despite the occasionally cheesy lines he is fed. Tim Roth gives an intense performance as Blonsky prior to his transformation into the Abomination. Ultimately though, despite being visually impressive, the final battle is between two CGI monsters and I found the film did not do enough to make me engage with Hulk. This is in part to do with the Hulk being unable to portray any real human emotion, this having to be shown through Betty at his side. Worth watching if you are a superhero film fan or as a warm-up for the Avengers.

A solid effort that delivers what you would expect from a Hulk movie and then a little bit more. Ed Norton is good as Bruce Banner and the action scenes are impressive. It is not the cleverest or the most thrilling superhero movie but it should appeal to fans and non-fans alike.

I liked it about as much as I did the first Hulk film. Edward Norton was a great addition. However I ,for one, am tired of seeing Hulk movies because they are all the same and really offer no growth for the characters featured in the film.

The main problem I have with The Incredible Hulk is that it can't decide what it wants to be - a sequel to Ang Lee's Hulk or a reboot of the franchise, and consequently it becomes neither. Despite this drawback it has a promising beginning - the opening favella set-piece is pure Bourne, and is engaging, tense, and action-packed. There are also some nice references to the 70s TV series throughout that I'm sure fans will appreciate. What The Incredible Hulk lacks almost entirely is emotion. None of the cast compare to those of Ang Lee's film - Edward Norton is not as grounded and complex as Eric Bana's Bruce Banner, Liv Tyler's Betty Ross isn't grounded in any way, nor is she a believable scientist, unlike the more understated Jennifer Connelly, and William Hurt simply isn't as cool as Sam Elliott. Regarding new cast members, Tim Roth isn't a particularly compelling villain, but Tim Blake Nelson is entertaining, but doesn't get enough screen-time. The film also suffers from the same drawback that blighted Captain America - it's forced to set up next 2012's super hero extravaganza The Avengers. What you get from The Incredible Hulk is a mildly entertaining diversion. It's not as complex, or interesting as Hulk, but it's far from incompetent. The action is handled well, if unimaginatively, and I'm still not convinced that effects are good enough to portray The Hulk as part of the real world. Let's just hope that's changed by next year. when the not-so-jolly green giant is portrayed by his third actor in his cinematic career. Good luck, Mr Ruffalo.

I didnt like it as much as the film before it but it was ok. The near 2 hour run time doesnt do it justice either and it can be a little bit boring in some parts. Edward Norton is a great cast for the lead and gives a good performance. I think they relied far too much on effects instead of the story behind it.

The Incredible Hulk has much higher action and better development for story. The CGI is great. The acting is really great. This film really adds the incredible in The Incredible Hulk.

"Incredible Hulk" is better than I expected thanks to a powerful performance by Edward Norton, amazing (green) CGI, and a great head start of Marvel studio's "Avengers".

For a superhero film, this is ridiculously violent, complex, intense, and flat. THE INCREDIBLE HULK is definitely just one of those films that is so surprisingly, to say the least, mediocre (I would italicize that last word if I could) that it makes you more appreciate blown-out, not-as-well-done superhero sequels such as SPIDER-MAN 3 and X-MEN: THE LAST STAND.

Better than the previous garbage movie Hulk, it really stay true to the character and makes for one of Marvel's best super hero movies yet, a must see for fans of the comics.

The Incredible Hulk really surprised me. Sure, it doesn't have as much wit or substance as Iron Man, but the film is what the Hulk should be: fun with good acting, a solid script, awesome action, and an actor that can portray Bruce Banner well. The Incredible Hulk is a great movie, and even better to comic book fans. Overall, forget Ang Lee, this is a great movie!

I love this movie! In fact, I actually like it more than Iron Man. Made me completely forget that awful movie Ang Lee did back in 2003. Can't wait for the Avengers!
