British director Paul Grengrass + American actor Matt Damon = "The Bourne Supremacy", "The Bourne Ultimatum" and now "Green Zone", so we know what to expect here - and we're not disappointed. From the opening seconds, we're into the action with the trademark Greengrass 'in the action' frenetic camera-work and sharp editing. Although the film is said to be inspired by the non-fiction book "Imperial Life In The Emerald City" by Rajiv Chandrasekaran, a journalist for The Washington Post, the conspiratorial storyline is the invention of Greengrass who developed the original script. If the tension isn't as excruciating at that other Iraq movie "The Hurt Locker", at least "Green Zone" has a narrative and poses some questions, hard questions that many American viewers would probably were rather not aired: what was the source of the 'intelligence' that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction? why was the source so readily believed when the evidence was so thin? could the bloody insurgency which followed the relatively easy initial occupation have been avoided if the Americans had been willing to work with elements of the Iraqi army? See the movie and think about the issues. As a central Iraqi character puts it: "It's not up to you to determine what happens in this country."

this is a really good movie, it tells about how the u.s. benefits from the war they are making, if only there are those really brave soldier that would do what chief miller(matt damon) did, expose the war, stop the u.s. from making a profitable business from making a war. good storyline, intelligent movie 9/10..

Learn to ask questions America and stop being "naive" ! From the youngest of 8, 6 of which are or were military, including my father, and I whom love our Armed Forces.....let not the few who run this country through falsification and mass hysteria lead our families whom love this country to the death die on such lies..... there should have been a diff way of toppling Saddams regime..... what else is next ?

Really very little point in the whole plot of the film. It doesn't deliver on the sense of excitement you are likely to get from the trailer, but if you are a Bourne fan, as essentially all of the target audience for this film are likely to be, you'll definitely enjoy it. 6/10

My knwledge of politics is limited, however, I am a firm believer in the 'secret' agenda of political powers. If this movie has even a fraction of truth to it it would explain why this war has gone on as long as it has. The Vietnam war boost the economy just like this war is doing. Too much power has been given to the government. However, Matt Damon does a convincing job as a soldier believing in a cause and doing what he can to stay true to his beliefs.

Excellent film, great plot with good twists as well as awesome special effects much better film than i thought it would be. Although i think we still should and would have gone to war even if it was known no WMD's were present simply due to the tyrany and appalling human rights atrocitys commited by Saddam. Still a great film, 8/10.

Don't expect Bourne in this movie .. Matt Damon, even with Paul Greengrass directing the film, can actually play a different character. Wish the movie had been longer - like all movies about uncovering all the BS reasons for going to war !

Excellent. Matt Damon controls the scenes and the plot is so feasible that it could be based on truth. Those who believe the Iraq war was just will not enjoy the viewpoint taken by this story. Those who are more realistic will enjoy this a great deal.
